Das DFG-Netzwerk Medien der kollektiven Intelligenz veranstaltet am 10. Mai eine Diskussionsveranstaltung zum Thema „Collaboration on the Web – Between Social Media & Protest“ mit Philippe Aigrain. Das Netzwerk untersucht Praktiken der Kooperation, die unter dem Begriff der kollektiven Intelligenz verhandelt werden und besonders die Neubestimmung des Internets als Social Web zu Beginn des 21. Jahrhunderts prägen. Aus dem Ankündigungstext der Veranstaltung: „The transformative power of social media and Web 2.0 is one of the central topoi of the beginning of the 21st century. But only recently have we seen the diversity of social processes associated with these new media and technologies, from Facebook’s (and others’) corporate re-appropriation and fencing-in of the Internet to the creative use of the same technologies to help topple oppressive regimes in North Africa.
