Einstein-Schering-Zirkel Life Imaging

The current industrial development provides a plethora of new tools on the basis of imaging technologies (including virtual and augmented reality, interactive 3D simulation) tha have a particular potential for medical applications and the life sciences in general. Under the title „Life Imaging“ the Einstein/Schering Circle offers a space for interdisciplinary exchange, in order to discuss how bodily properties can be translated into such media in a sufficient and operable way, furnishing the users with new, tangible means of interaction. Members of the circle will collaborate in a small series of workshops and formulate the outlines of an interdisciplinary research center that addresses the implicit challenges of this development and reflect its consequences for theories of the visual and the physical.
